Act 47 Public Input Meetings

The Act 47 Coordinators for the City of Harrisburg are seeking community input on Harrisburg’s financial recovery.  They are conducting two public meetings to answer questions and get input from residents and businesses.

·        Meeting 1: Monday, Feb. 28; 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Location: YWCA, Highmark Room, 1101 Market St., Harrisburg

This meeting will begin with a presentation and then input will be gathered in a question and answer format.

·       Meeting 2: Monday, March 7; 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Location: Heinz-Menaker Senior Center, 1824 N. 4thSt., Harrisburg

This meeting will begin with a presentation and then input will be gathered in smaller groups.  Participants will engage in conversation regarding their priorities for City services and provide input on potential strategies for trimming expenses and increasing revenues.

Act 47 provides for the State to assist financially distressed cities in Pennsylvania to develop long-term recovery plans.  Please see the link below for a press release from the Department of Community and Economic Development regarding these meetings and more about Act 47.
